New travel app will pay you up to $10,000 if it rains on your vacation

A NEW travel app will pay vacationers up to $10,000 if they get the weather wrong.

Users may be hit with rain on their travels but at least they’ll have a rainy day fund.

WeatherPromise, an AI-powered app, guarantees an accurate weather prediction for vacationers.

If they get the weather wrong and you don’t see clear skies, they’ll pay up to $10,000 for their mistake.

If the weather is as they predict, however, users will have to pay for using the service.

Co-founder Dan Price explained that the app was a great way to cover all your bases on vacation in an interview.

“We customize every WeatherPromise for the specific trip and traveler to design an offer that will fit your destination, type of trip, and dates,” Price said.

“For some trips, we automatically refund the entire trip cost if you see even a single day of bad weather.

“Other WeatherPromises might trigger after one or two days of bad weather.

“Almost all WeatherPromises will refund your entire trip cost if the weather is worse than we promise.

“No matter what, we believe in transparency, so we always show your exact WeatherPromise including triggers and refund amount before you buy.”

Users can book a trip with a WeatherPromise travel partner, buy a WeatherPromise guarantee based on their trip destination and location, and just sit back and relax.

A new take on travel insurance, travelers can get compensation if the vacation they’ve looked forward to for months is suddenly ruined by rain or sleet.

Users must book their trip for at least a week away and no longer than 30 days.

Price explained that the app was perfect for vacations to places like Scotland, where the weather can be unpredictable.

“WeatherPromises make perfect sense for trips like these, giving travelers the confidence to explore with the confidence that they will get a refund if the weather is bad,” he said.

“We know that what you would consider bad weather in Miami is completely different from what ‘bad weather’ means in Scotland, so our system automatically customizes every WeatherPromise and suggests a WeatherPromise that allows you to maximize your trip.

“We always show you exactly what ‘bad weather’ means before you buy a WeatherPromise.

“Just as importantly, we watch the actual weather as it happens at your destination and then automatically reach out to you with a refund as soon as we see bad weather.”

The app sources its weather data for 2.3 million locations on the planet every hour for the most accurate weather promises, according to its website.

The cost users can expect to pay for their trip varies by the length of the vacation and the location.

A quote for an 8-day trip in Phuket, for example, can cost vacationers $370.

In exchange for the hefty bill, users can expect up to $6,000 back if it rained at least four out of eight days.
