How to Check Your Reddit Browsing History

You can find your browsing history on both the Reddit app and website. However, the lists of posts you’ve viewed seem to be specific to the device you’re using. Here’s how you can find your history on both the mobile and web platforms.

Finding Your Reddit Browsing History on the App

It’s easy to view your viewing history on Reddit using the mobile app. Just follow these steps:

1. Open the app and tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
2. In the side menu, scroll down to History.
3. This will show you a list of posts that you have recently viewed. You can change the sorting order by tapping on Recent and selecting Upvoted, Downvoted, and Hidden.

Finding Your Browsing History on the Reddit Website

The process for finding your browsing history on the Reddit website is slightly different.

To view your history on the website, follow these steps:

1. Open the Reddit website and tap your profile picture in the top-right.
2. In the drop-down menu, select Profile. This will take you to a page with your profile information and history sorted into separate tabs.
3. To view your browsing history, select the History tab.

Other users can’t see your browsing history if they visit your profile. However, they will be able to see an overview of your profile, along with posts and comments you’ve made.

How to Delete Your Reddit Browsing History Across Devices

While your viewing history on Reddit isn’t public, you may want to clear it in case someone goes snooping on your device.

Clearing and deleting your browsing history on Reddit differs according to whether you’re using the mobile app or the website. Clearing the history for the app does not clear your website history, and vice versa. So if you want to clear your history on both platforms, you will need to do so separately.

How to Clear Your Reddit Browsing History on Mobile

To clear your history on Reddit’s app, follow these steps:

1. Open the app and tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
2. In the side menu, scroll down to History.
3. On the History page, select the three dots in the top right corner. You will then see the option to Clear history. This will clear the history for your recently viewed posts.

You cannot clear the history for your Upvoted or Downvoted posts and comments history. To do this, you will need to manually remove your upvotes and downvotes or delete your posts and comments.

If you don’t want the platform to store your browsing or search history in future, you should browse Reddit anonymously.

How to Delete Your Reddit Browsing History on the Website

The option to clear your browsing history on the Reddit website isn’t on the History page. Rather, you’ll find it in your settings.

To access the option to delete your history, follow these steps:

1. Click on your profile picture in the top-right and select User Settings.
2. Then select Profile from the navigation bar.
3. Scroll down until you see Clear history and select the Clear history button.

   

This clears your post view history. However, it does not clear your comments, post, saved posts, upvoted, and downvoted history.
